SVK

Avernus

Release date

March 19, 2014

It is less than a year ago since SVK released their last effort, Rogue Waves. Now the band is ready to unleash the second full-length album Avernus. Avernus is an evocative and intense album. It takes you on an atmospheric journey to the underworld and back, and is a true testimony that the band has perfected the expression they gradually developed over the previous two releases. The band still experiments and improvises a lot but this time it’s more carefully planned. SVK will dazzle you with a blend of melancholic, almost cinematic  soundscapes, hypnotic drums, groovy bass, and atmospheric layers of keyboards, synths, cello and guitars.

The album was mixed by Gary Bromham (Björk, Sheryl Crow) and SVK , and mastered by Neil Pickles, who has worked with several Grammy nominated artists. These are two guys with long experience in the industry and a track record most producers envy. Renowned keyboardist Ståle Storløkken (Supersilent, Elephant9, Terje Rypdal, Motorpsycho, Veslefrekk, BOL) makes a guest apperance on the tracks An Altered Perspective and Road To Avernus.
