About 7800 years ago, Doggerland disappeared beneath the North Sea. But it has recently resurfaced in the shape of a rock band in the underground scene of Oslo, Norway. Doggerland, formerly known as Paranoid James, combines potent and desperate riffs with dark, noise-driven passages and claustrophobic vocals.“We wanted to do something different from what we did as Paranoid James,” explains vocalist Vetle Løvgaard. “Our music is much darker and maybe a little bit experimental while there are lots of hooks for those who wants to rock out!”

The quintet consists of Vetle Løvgaard (vocals, guitar), Emil Brattested (guitar), Magnus Skavhaug Nergaard (bass), Jan Klippen Hovland (synth, piano, rhodes) and Espen Bergo (drums, percussion). “We give everything with this band,” continues Løvgaard. “Oslo’s underground scene have already noticed us, and we have played some gigs at bigger venues. We want to share our music with as many people as possible and will do what we can to spread the word about Doggerland as much as possible.”

Before x-mas, Doggerland released the single Dog. Now they are ready to release their first EP, No Mind On Its Own. It was recorded in Urban Sound Studio in Oslo during the summer of 2012, and will be released internationally through Pug-Nose Records on February 28th 2013.
