US of B is the first release from the Norwegian hard rock band, BIOBEAT. The band may not have been around for long, but with line-up issues finally dealt with they are ready to show everyone what they are made of. “With this release we seek to establish ourselves as a force to be reckoned with on the rock and metal scene,” says vocalist Alexander K. Lykke. “Musically speaking we have very different backgrounds: We have a guitarist who’s played in almost everything from death metal bands to country rock bands, our bass player and I come from the progressive rock scene, and our drummer has been in various bands in various genres. But what we’ve got in common is that we all love hard rock in all its forms. We are experimenting with impulses from classic rock and heavy metal, but we also incorporate styles from the modern hard rock scene as well as some innovations of our own. I really believe we’ve got something unique going on.”

BIOBEAT is a group of hardworking guys and they went all the way to Copenhagen in Denmark to record their debut EP. “We wanted to get away from our daily lives so that we could focus one hundred percent on the music. When we heard there was an opening in DKDM Studio we just had to jump at the chance,” explains Alexander. The three songs were recorded in three days, and the band returned to Norway to finish the production. “It’s great that our band consists of creative people, not just musically speaking. Our guitarist designed both our logo and the cover art for the release, and our bass player mixed and mastered it. Even though he was in charge of this the overall sound is a  collaborative effort. We worked as a team and there are elements from all of us in there.” The band members are aiming for the top and aren’t happy until they’ve reached it.
